I'm really between these two.
Can anyone give pros/cons on either?

Also pros/cons on buying Group0+ or Group0+/1?

Thanks

Joie 360

Pros
Cheap - one seat up to 3/4 years for £200
Rotates to side, nice and easy
Slightly longer lasting compared to other 0-4y seats - accommodates approx 110cm (most are more like 105)
Extended rear facing up to 3-4 years
Compact (compared to infant seats/other 0-4y seats) in the car
Easy to install, isofix.
Decent recline for a 0-4y seat
Range of reclines for older children
Multi-stage insert adapts seat for different ages
Has option to turn forward facing if you want to later
Better fit for newborn than most 0-4y seats
Good crash protection from frontal crashes

Cons
Harness can be tricky to get right due to the bulky pads
Harness tends to sit high on the tummy making it easy to escape
Inserts can be confusing to use
Wedge insert in particular is very bulky, pushes children out of the seat towards the end of the first year.
Can be turned FF meaning you might FF too early
Side impact protection not great
Can be wobbly and rattly in some cars
Support leg is not compatible with some cars
Heavy, bulky and awkward to move between cars
Can only be fitted with isofix
Barely any leg room for older RF child (not a safety issue)
If used FF, child is very close to front seat
Seat is high up meaning toddler cannot climb in themselves

Cybex Cloud Z

Pros
Reclines when out of the car
Compatible with many pushchairs (Maxi Cosi adapters)
Base allows seat to rotate to side
Fit with isofix base, or directly with seatbelt
Base also takes next stage rotating seat
Base has anti-rebound protection
Great fit for newborn
Really long lasting compared with other infant carriers (approx 18 months)
Great crash test results for both front and side impact

Cons
Expensive - £400 (with base) for approx 12-18 months' use
Heavy seat compared to other infant carriers
Modular base can be a bit of a con, tying you to one next stage seat
Harness can be stiff to tighten with baby in

General seat type info

0-4 years fixed all in one seats (0+/1 seats)

Pros
Lasts generally to 3-4 years old. May be more economical.
If lucky/child is small, you may get away with this seat + a high backed booster later.
Good for passing down to younger sibling if you choose a bigger ERF seat afterwards.
Stays in car meaning less chance of incorrect installation.
Less temptation to leave child in car seat for too long
High up in car giving older babies a better view

Cons
May not fit newborns well. Don't always adjust small enough for them. (Joie 360 is better than most but still not perfect)
Tend to have a 5 point harness which is tricky for newborns.
Depending on the slope of the rear seats in your car, may not recline enough for babies

Depends very much on one centile your child is on.... if they're anything above 50th centile then neither as they won't last them rearfacing for long enough :)
We have the Joie I-spin 360 as it's got better side impact protection and the rotating trigger is on the side, so easier to access. My baby is below the 25th centile for weight though and really short!

Heckythump1 · 11/01/2022 10:24

I also wouldn't use either from birth as you won't get a decent fit straight away unless baby is massive chunk (and then the seat won't last them long enough rearfacing, so would be pointless) definitely best off with an infant seat first, then you can see what centile they're on as they get older (it can change a bit) and decide whether you need a 25kg rearfacing seat, or whether you will be ok with an 18kg rearfacing :)

The cybex cloud is an infant carrier seat.

@BertieBotts

The cybex cloud is an infant carrier seat.
I know.

I'm trying to gauge between the two fore-mentioned car seats what I should go for for my newborn.

Yes I was replying to Hecky.

I wrote quite a detailed comparison above, I hope it was useful.
