5 yr old or baby in front passenger with car seat

Hi all,
I have a Citroen c5 so can fit car seats in back or two car seats and adult passenger.
At the moment have a 5 yr old and 2 yr old in the back and I sit in middle as stewardess to various needs for food/drink/cleaning!
Number 3 is coming soon and ultimately all 3 will be in back but until then…. Do I move the 5 yr old front facing in front passenger with airbag on but west pushed back? Or baby in rearward car seat in front passenger with air bag turned off?
I don’t know how to find out what’s theoretically easier.

We go on some longish car journeys and for a smooth and quiet journey I will need to access all three kids! It’s only 5 year old that might be self sufficient enough in front car seat.

Let me know what you’d do or where I could get advice on safest set up until all 3 can go happily in backseat.

Thanks

@AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken

My superior parenting? It’s just basic parenting! Keep them as safe as possible. Teach them basic skills.

I didn’t realise this was super mum territory.

You sit in the back of your car with your children?!
I don't think this is at all odd - great if there are two of you and there's room, but obviously it's not always practical. As in this case - I would have the three in the back seat, or upgrade to a bigger family car, but I wouldn't compromise on safety by putting a small child at the front.

Ah, sorry @Shmithecat2, I didn’t realise I was conversing with the five year old mentioned in the OP.
It’s past your bedtime

You can fit 2 car seats and a booster seat in my car and its tiny. Couldn't get 3 baby seats but 2 and a booster is easy.

I sit in the back too, in between two massive car seats. Deeply uncomfortable for me but preferable to the alternative.

Baby in the front with the airbag off is safest.

The driver needs to be able to drive safely even if there is crying. I have a very travel sick 4 year old and she just holds the bowl until we can pull over if it comes to it. She understands that the rules are different in the car because we have always been very consistent. Each child (the other is 3) has water, tissues and a rice cake within reach and otherwise they wait. No way would I put them in a less safe seat to spare myself a bit of whinging.

Do you onlyever go out with your DH driving? How odd.

All three will be fine in the back together. Wherever you sit isn’t going to stop the 5 year old throwing up.

What you sitting in the front?

All three in the back oldest in the middle to give dummy or whatever

If you really can’t sit them all in the back (which you should), it’s probably safer to put the newborn rf in the front with the airbag off.

What are you going to do once new baby outgrows the infant seat? The front doesn’t really accommodate bigger rf seats very well and your oldest child will still be too young for the front. I would start training them to sit in the back alone now.

I can't comment on legalities as mine are all grown up and laws have changed but two of mine were carsick when rearward facing but better once forward facing and eldest did often have to sit up front as felt better. Eventually bought 7 seater when their shoulders wouldn't fit across the back which was much better for long journeys that they couldn't reach each other 😂

@MrsHGWells I was correcting myself, not you! I had said 125cm originally, then posted the correct height.
