Daughter escapes Cybex Pallas M-fix! Help!

I bought 3 x Cybex Pallas M-Fix SL 2in1 Car Seats from boots.com based on an excellent Which review. From age 1-2 journeys with our daughter were trouble free but when she turned 2 she started to escape! It would seem she has worked out that pulling the seat belt loosens the impact shield so she can wriggle up and climb out. It happens in my car, my husbands and my parents cars regardless who belts her in. The ability for a toddler to be able to do this seems like a serious and dangerous design flaw. It is impossible to reason with a two year old to not climb out and when driving 70mph down a dual carriageway/motorway its not always possible to stop. Stopping is also not effective for long as she just gets out again! I am terrifed of having an accident without her being properly protected!

In frustration and at the end of my tether I contacted cybex for their advice and was told rather unhelpfully that the only thing that will help is patience and persistence!

I hate driving anywhere with her now and dont know what to do! I'm not sure replacing them with a five point harness seat will be much better as shes been able to escape her pram since 13 months :( Anyone else experienced this problem or any suggestions would be appreciated

Some children are such houdinis aren't they!

I think I would try a 5 point harness, as she perhaps doesn't like the impact shield. You can at least use additional products with those like the Besafe belt collector or five point plus (or both!!)

Could you talk to her and ask which she would prefer? Maybe take her to a shop and try out different seats to see which would be comfortable for her? I'd recommend Maxi Cosi, Besafe or Britax as the harness is nice and snug on these seats whereas some other brands have it a bit looser which is no good.

Is there a form of distraction or bribery that you could use?
