What can I do with old car seats?

We are about to move to High back booster seats in upcoming months but we have 2 maxi cosi 2 way pearls and 3 isofix bases that are in perfect working order.

I think I'm not allowed to sell them right? I've no friends with children to give them too but I can just throw them away, surely?

Any suggestions?

Some fire stations will take them for practice

Cut the straps and take then to the tip. Not much else you can do

If, in perfect conscience, you can say they've been stored well, in no accidents, and are undamaged... Offer them on a free site locally. Although the guidelines say no to second hand seats, some people struggling for money would be happy to receive one.

Pass it on site of Facebook, don't send them to landfill!!!

Of course you can sell them! There's absolutely no reason to cut the straps and take them to the tip, unless they have been crashed or they are worn out and broken.

People do buy second hand seats despite being advised not to - I always think it's better to put something decent out there on the marketplace rather than the array of old, broken, outdated seats you often see.

If you don't have the manuals any more I'd put a link to the PDF version up on the listing so that the buyer can download it.

Freecycle, Facebook, local neighbourhood WhatsApp group? Someone will be happy to take them for free - in a situation where you’d have no motivation to lie about a crash.

Thanks everyone, I don't want them to go to waste - they're really good, safe car seats that I know some people genuinely couldn't afford and I'd much rather they had mine than a cheap less safe £30 one because that's all they could find.
