Hi all

We have a mothercare journey car seat which I'm going to need to use over the next few months (haven't used it since before lockdown). My son is now 8 months and nearly 10kg. I'm unsure of what bits inserts wise I need to remove...I've taken the bum wedge out but do I need to take out the body and head cushions too? Take a look at pics...basically one with all bits removed, one with just the head cushioning removed and one with all the cushions in place.

Just doesn't seem very padded if I remove all the extra bits! I'd ask the manufacturer, but obv I cant! Thanks

Do you have the manual for the seat? That should explain when to take out inserts.

But generally at 10kg I would expect all inserts ought to be removed. It's not a very padded seat because it is quite a basic one.

I believe the manufacturer of this seat is Team Tex, you could try contacting them.

Hard to read as MN has made the picture very small! But it looks like it is saying that the wedge can't be removed under 4 months old, and nothing else is mentioned.

If that is all it's saying then the rest of them are for comfort - you can leave them in if the baby is comfortable, and take them out if/when they look squashed. It's not important for safety either way :)
