Isofix bass compatibility

I finally have a car that is new enough to have isofix! However, I am so confused as to which base is compatible with my My Babiie car seat. I know My Babiie do their own base, but is there such thing as a universal base?; as I'd ideally like to buy secondhand or cheaper if possible. (Don't shoot me, lone parent of two and maternity pay ended last month).
Open to recommendations of other car seats if there isn't a universal or compatible base for the seat I have. Thanks in advance Smile

They tend to be brand specific

Thank you @dementedpixie

No mybabiie don’t sell a ‘universal’ base, it’s only compatible with their infant seat(s). This is typical with most infant seats. Maxi Cosi do vases that are compatible with more than one seat, eg the FamilyFix2 is compatible with the rock, Tinca and pebble pro.

Bases aren’t actually necessary as it’s just as safe to belt it in. Although it does make it feel much more secure. Joie also do rather cheap yet safe seats. The Juva is only £40 and the clickfit base is £60 = £100 in total so could work (although the base is belted)

There are no universal bases sadly and I’ve never heard of that specific brand.

Thank you ladies. I don't mind belting in but it is a bit of a faff so was wanted to make life a little easier. I'm currently looking at maxi-cosy seats and their bases.

Do you want the car seat to be compatible with your pushchair? If not you can save money by either getting a cheaper car seat like the Joie Juva as Tea suggested or even a 0-4 years seat which stays in the car all the time (I like the Joie 360 as a budget option).

Worth being aware that the 0-4 years seats don't always last to age 4 depending on the size of your child relative to their age, but they definitely last longer than infant seats.

I wouldn't suggest you buy a car seat second hand, but the base is not quite as much of a risk - you still don't want to use one which has been in an accident but the other issues with second hand seats don't apply as much to bases.

I did notice it says this on the product page for their base, so if you do look into getting the My Babiie base check you have the right seat for it:

PLEASE NOTE: Only the Group 0+ Car Seats with the 2 metal bars in the base are compatible with this Isofix base.
