Wobbly isofix

Should the isofix base and seat be wobbly?

Have just received a Maxi cosi mica 0-4 seat, tested in car using isofix and instructions. The pieces change from red to green which should show correct fitting.
However its really wobbly, moves from side to side and lifts up from seat base. Is this correct? it doesn't seem like it

We’ve got the maxi cosi 3 way family fix isofix and I’m assuming they all fit in the same way

Once it’s clicked into the isofix at the back, you have to really push/pull it left and right until it’s clicked again - it can be really stiff to do this

My light system also went green before this was properly done - it was only when I thought it was too wobbly that I pushed/pulled harder and it finally clicked properly into place

Thanks. I spoke to someone at maxi cosi customer support and they were pretty helpful. said it shouldn't wobbly, so i will try what you suggested later when dh is home to lift in back in and hopefully it fits tighter. Maxi cosi said if it still wobblys to video and send to them so they can see issue.

If you have no luck trying yourself you could always pop to a mamas and papas if you have one near and ask one of them for assistance, I’m sure they’d be happy to help!

There is some movement with isofix, it's like links in a chain. You'll get more movement in some cars than others, it's probably to do with the position of your isofix brackets.

I've not fitted this seat but with the Joie 360 which is also prone to wobble in some cars you can sometimes eliminate some of it by sitting in the footwell and really pushing the child seat into the vehicle seat while pressing the buttons which retract the isofix bars. If you have similar in the Maxi Cosi this may be worth a try.

If you've bought online you have 14 days to return in any case. It is a good idea to try car seats in your car for fitting before purchase. Being on a fit list is not a guarantee it will fit well.

We couldn't buy in store, as there are no stores selling them near us. We are fairly remote and not in Uk.

I tried it again this morning, and it seems fine actually. It just really needed clicking and pushing un further to make tighter and now the base part doesn't move. Is slightly strange the parts go green straight away though, I would have thought they should only go green when fully tight not just when clicked into isofix

Otherwise it seems a really good seat, well padded, easy rotate and should last a good few years. It also fits weill in our small car.
