Spin seats

Hi, I've previously asked a question in relation to car seats, but now we're narrowing down to the idea of a rotating seat I'm just looking for any advice on which seats perform better or if there is much difference between them?

We've decided we want a spin seat for now to make getting DS in and out easier, as he is currently a wriggly nightmare who fights being put in his infant carrier, and he's a chunk! We feel the spin option will make getting him in easier facing the door?

Been looking at the Joie 360 and Cosatto come and go. Budget is £200 absolute max. I know both are up to 18kg, but are any bigger to last longer fie height?

I know we'll end up having to buy another seat when he outgrows this, but feel it's the best option for my back at the moment.

And lastly, is it safe to move him into this seat now and stop using the infant carrier?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions or guidance!

We've bought a Max Way Plus in the sales. DS hasn't outgrown his spin seat yet but he's not completely comfortable in it any more, there doesn't seem to be much crotch room. We were hesitating between the Axkid Minikid and the Britax Max Way Plus, and we tried both (at the ICSC, they are excellent) - the Max Way Plus was the better more comfortable fit for our DS. So you can't really beat trying out the seats.

A note about space taken up in the car. This was a factor for us when we bought the spin seat. DS was only about 8 months old so he still needed a lot of recline. We couldn't fit a 25kg seat in our car with enough recline for him. So the 18kg spin seat was better for us at that time. Obviously the older the child gets, the less recline they need, so the 25kg seats will become more upright and take up less space. (We've since replaced our car for one with more leg room, anyway Grin)

Thanks. I understand the points re 25kg seats, but I just think right now a spin seat will suit us while he's younger and can't climb in himself etc.

Thanks for the reminder recommendations, I wasn't able to easily find information on which seats were safer or did better in tests than others etc. Think the Joie seams to be the one recommended for what we're looking for right now.

ADAC is what you look for for testing. Unfortunately it's only available in German, but it's fairly easy to understand with green for good, red/orange for bad, and if you view in Google Chrome it should offer to translate to English for you, which isn't perfect but helps enough.

Cosatto Come and Go is a rebrand of a seat called Heyner Multifix Twist, which is what was tested by ADAC.
