best toddler car seat for easy installation in multiple cars?

I don't own a car but I am a member of a car sharing scheme (Like Zip car). All the cars are the same brand and compatable with ISOX-FIX.

Im looking for a toddler car seat (for 15months plus). Which is light weight and easy to install, as I will need to install the seat in the morning and remove it the same evening (with a toddler in toe). Its proving very difficult to find as most have heavy ISO-FIX bases.

Any recommendations??

I suggest Joie Stages as it's the one we have for Grandparents cars and my tiny 75yo MIL can handle installation and removal. It's belt fix which is just as safe as isofix when done properly. Once your child is 18kg you can turn it forward facing till they are 25kg. In our case this meant that DD stayed rear facing till she turned 4 and is now forward facing on the same seat which should last till she's 7.

Isofix seats do tend to be heavy so you might be better off with a belt fitted one. However isofix is quicker to install if the seat comes with a base.

How old and how heavy is your child? That would make a difference to recommendation. Also are you looking for a seat which has the ability to rear face or are you looking for a forward facing one? If so, does your child still fit into their infant seat at all?

My child is almost15months old but light for her age weighing 9.5kg. She does fit in her current baby seat, but is starting to look too small. I would ideally like one with a prolonged rear face option but Im not sure if thats possible considering the weigh/size restraint.

@LucyJ123 the Joie I mentioned will last Rear Facing till around age 4

Joie Tilt might be good for you in that case. It's one of the lightest group 1 seats and it can be rear facing until 18kg if you want to. It's a bit smaller than other Group 1 seats, but as your child is small for her age this shouldn't be a problem. It might be worth checking the car model is on the fitting list but if they are fairly modern cars, it should fit OK.

However as a non driver myself I would recommend sticking with the infant seat for as long as possible ie until your child meets the weight limit or their head reaches the edge of the shell! It just makes your life so much easier to keep using that kind of seat. Some small for age kids will fit into them past the 2nd birthday.

Yes agreed Joie Stages would be good too. It's a bit more universal at fitting and a bit bigger for the child but is slightly heavier and more expensive.
