Car Seat - front facing with good tilt

Hi all,
I'm really lost in the world of cat seats!
I need a front facing car seat for my 10 month old with a really good tilt. Not just a couple of inches as I have one like that but one that really reclines for sleeping on long journeys.
Thanks Smile

He needs to be rearward facing at that age.

Not fully up on this but ff at 10months isn’t legal in the UK

Joie spin is a good option for rear facing and tilt

Is it even legal for a 10 month old to forward face. I thought it was rear facing until 15 months minimum

I don't think forward facing is advised at that age. Has he grown out of the infant carrier?

You have to rear face in the UK until 15 months as I understand and then it's recommended that they rear face until 4.

dementedpixie · 02/07/2019 13:25

It depends on whether the seat is iSize as to whether they can forward face. There are seats that are weight based which forward face earlier but arent seen as being as safe as iSize seats

Thesearmsofmine · 02/07/2019 13:26

Is there a reason you need front facing? Rear facing is much safer, my 3 year is still rear facing!

I've got the Britax dualfix for my now 2 year old. He does FF now but until around 19 months rear faced. Both positions have an excellent tilt on them but when rear facing it's can be set to be very laid back because it can be suitable for newborns.

I'm sure the newer ones are I-size though which means you can't forward face until 15 months.

Forward facing seats are generally deliberately built not to recline because it increases the loads on their head and neck in a crash. If you want your child to recline to sleep in the car, they should rear-face, which is significantly safer at that age anyway.
