Narrow first infant carrier

I’m going around in circles with this and need some advice!

Baby number 3 due in May and we’re away in Spain for the summer and will need to hire a car, I haven’t managed to organise this yet but I know it’s going to be tricky to find something to hire to fit three seats. I’m looking for a first infant carrier, as narrow as possible, used with a seatbelt and also as cheap as possible as its likely we’ll change to an isofix once we know which new car we’re buying for the UK.
I’ll check safety tests etc before buying but I don’t want to spend more than I have to for this temporary solution.

Has anyone got any recommendations please?

It would be easier to put one of the older kids in the front and you sit in the back between baby and the other dc, as you will find that very very few cars fit three car seats across the back unless they are a really large car and still most don't.

Thanks bobstersmum, I've thought about that option but I don't feel comfortable putting my just 6 yr old in the front, plus I'll be driving and my OH is huge :)

I have seen the Joie Juva and the Mothercare Ziba recommended as being narrow and lightweight, does anyone have one of these? Off to check safety ratings now!

Could you hire a 7 seater instead? It's a real pain finding a car that will take three seats across the back and even then it might be only a select few that will actually fit safely together.

I have three seats across the back in my car and it took hours of research to decide on the type of car & seats to get. It also depends what stage seats you need as to how well they might fit.

It would probably be much easier to hire an mpv so that all the child seats don't need to be in a row together (although I think some mpv 3rd rows aren't safe for certain stage seats)

Yes we're looking at that option, thank you! We're away for the whole summer so the bigger the car the more expenny it all gets...!

The Joie seats are quite narrow. You can also put infant carriers in the front seat with the airbag switched off.

Joie seats are good op. I had a joie travel system that came with a juva but I didn't use it as I used the one from my previous child with an isofix, however it seemed nice enough, quite light if I remember and it was definitely smaller than the other seat that I had.

Thanks all, I think I'm going to go with the Joie juva to be used with a seatbelt initially and I'll think about a more permanent option/getting a base for the UK once I know which car we're going to get.
