I have a silver cross car seat for my 6 month old, I don't particularly like it and neither does she as it's a bit too cramped up for her liking.

Im looking to change it to something that would permanently stay in the car, and also that will eventually rotate to forward facing and grow with her.

Any recommendations please?

If she has not grown that seat then that is the safest seat for now.

What centile does she follow for weight and height? If she's less than the 50th centile, the Joie Stages is a good choice.

Just in case you're unaware, forward facing harnessed seats aren't a necessity. It's safest for a child to rear face until at least 4 yrs and then they can go straight into a high back booster.

She is very snug in the seat, so i can't see her fitting comfortably in it for too much longer.
I'm not suggesting going for a seat that is for an older age group, merely looking for something that will be more permanent until the 4 year mark that I can turn to forward facing when she's ready.

Does the joie swivel outwards for putting them in and then turning back to face the seat?

We have the britax dual fix. It swivels and is really comfortable to sleep in. Head doesn't roll forwards. Dd is 3 and has loads off space rear facing.

The Silver Cross isn't a big infant carrier in terms of space for the baby though. It would be better to look at her predicted height and weight at 4 by following the line in the graphs in her red book. If she's going to be tall or weigh more than 18kg by age 4, then an 18kg seat isn't going to be a good choice. You would be better to get a 25kg rear facing seat which would last to 4. If she's on the higher centiles and you get an 18kg seat, she may grow out of it before 4 and then you may have to buy a 25kg seat anyway to fill the gap before she's old enough and mature enough for a high back booster.

The Joie 360 is the largest spin seat. The Dualfix has a much shorter shell. Both have an 18kg weight limit although the Dualfix is lightly to be outgrown in height before weight.

If you're interested in 25kg seats, most of them only fit once a baby is about 12mo. The Axkid Minikid and Britax Two Way Elite are very good choices. None of these seats will spin but it's not that long until they can climb up thenselves. I've got 2 Minikids and my youngest has been climbing up from about 19mo.

I was looking at the joei 360 and it looks great!

That info on the previous post is really helpful though, il definitely do my research with regards to which will last the longest.

I guess with the silver cross, my baby likes to have space and it's quite cramped and she can't see much, I wonder if she'll be happier in one of the fixed car seats as she should be able to see more and in turn HOPEFULLY be a little happier.

And as you say, it it lasts until she's 4 then it's certainly not money wasted

I bought my car seat model for my baby at website below, so far no issue for the function.

Must think carefully as car seat can use up to many years for baby safety.
