AIBU to advise my friend on car seat safety

My friend told me yesterday that she lets her 2 year old daughter ride in the front of the car with her and even though she is in a forward facing car seat she switches off her air bag. She said that being in the front passenger seat is just as safe as the back and that the car seat manufacturer advised turning off the airbag.

I did say at the start of the conversation that I am obssessed with car seat safety and have read up lots on it. I didn't want to argue with her so instead last night sent her a link to the government website that I refer to. My partner says I should have just left it. AIBU to send on this link? I phrased it that I'm sure if she's checked with the manufacture it's fine but this is where I get my info from. I just thought what something happened and I didn't say anything?

That's true, but there are lots of seats that cover Group 2 (up to 25kgs) rear facing too.

The airbag death thing worries me a lot. I don't like having any child in the front seat, even if they are tall(ish).

Mind you, I am probably more at risk of airbag death as I only have little arms and legs and have to sit quite close to the steering wheel...

not really feeling the love for which search any more; not sure how up to date they were and there were recommendig the exploding samsung washing machines till lately.

i would have said my concern re child safety and have done. their choice to get pissy. i stopped a strangers kid furkling in the nappy bin at the changing rooms last week. mum got pissy. while i don't care if her kid has d& v, if i am there and see it and she isn't looking then i reckon any sensible adult has a duty to check a kid is safe. if roles had been reversed i'd have said thanks.
