best ERF car seat?

Looking to buy dd an ERF car seat as she is fast becoming too big for the baby carrier. I want it to be isofix, obviously ERF and with a 5 point harness. Am getting completely lost in research and confusing myself. Unconcerned about cost just want it to be the safest car seat for her. We do lots of motorway driving extremely regularly. At the moment I'm looking at nuna rebl, be safe izi combo x4 and Joie stages.

Not sure if this is much help as I'm having the same dilemma I want 2 bases for 2 cars I've narrowed it down to joie I anchor or maxi cosi 2 way pearl

Trooperslane · 13/10/2015 16:10

We have the 2 way pearl.

As soon as we put dd in it, she started to be car sick, so it's ff already.

Bugger.

I have the Nuna Rebl, I got it from the In Car Safety Centre. I love it, and I'm really pleased we got it. For me it was between this and the Cybex Sirona, but I was put off by the impact shield on the Sironaand the fact it's not technically I-size (although apparently it is, just without the tag IYKWIM), although it looks beautiful!! Also my DH is tall so the Rebl is likely to last us a bit longer if DS takes after him.

I researched ERF seats but when it came down to it only one style actually could be safely / practically fitted in our car, so suggest finding a retailer where you can try a few.

Onsera3 · 13/10/2015 16:43

I agree you have to go try. See what fits your car and your child. I had three in mind for DS. One was too narrow for him, one was not contoured enough to look comfy or easy enough to change recline. That left Cybex Sirona - which he outgrew by 2nd bday :(

Britax duelfix can't reccomend it enough so secure and dd 2.5 find its comfy I wish we'd had it from birth. We tried the pearl in our car which was apparently suitable for it- but it was not a good fix at all and didn't rate it very much- for the little extra go for the duelfix I can't reccomend it enough.

We have a dual fix and a be safe i size. I prefer the be safe because DS can see out the window so is happier and the recline is massively better than on the dual fix. Now he's approaching 13kg we might have to get rid of it because it's too upright for him to sleep in - his head falls forward completely so it's not safe. So that was waste of money Sad Also the leg room and height of the seat back for DS in the be safe is better. When we tried a 3.5 year old in both our seats she was almost too big for the dual fix forward facing and rear facing was practically impossible. She was fine in the be safe.

Think we are going for the nuna rebl fits really well in our car and seat turns 360 degrees so will be easy to get her in and out.

We have the sirona and absolutely love it! So much so when we needed another for dh's car we looked at other cheaper ones but still ended up with another sirona.
Our lo is 98th centile for height and 16 months old and still has lots of room in it. The impact shield was of no concern to us as it will be used rear facing until he outgrows it. It's a beautiful and brilliant seat. Lo is so comfy in it. He's chunky too and it was the widest of all that we looked at so he doesn't look squashed in it.

Isofix isn't safer than seat belt fitted.
If you're open to seatbelt fitted seats you can also choose from 25kg seats like the Axkid Minikid and Besafe Izi Plus, both have passed the Swedish Plus Test.
