ERFs part 2 - seats that turn around easily? What about Joie I-Anchor?

OK so I was going for 2 Joie Stages in my car but it looks like they are really fiddly to install and swap from rear facing to forward facing. I will need to do that every Wed and every Fri so want something that can be done quickly.

I just saw the Joie I anchor on offer for £175 inc base. I rarely do long journeys with the children (I am a childminder) and they are nearly a year old and nearly 18 months old so don't have to worry about their heads flopping forwards.

What do people think about them?

I have storage compartments but they are filled with foam and apparently that is fine.

Cheers

Jayne

I've only got a Joie Stages, and have only ever installed it rear facing, but it takes seconds to do so. I can't imagine it would take long to unbuckle them and turn them round then possibly take a little longer to feed the seatbelt through the seat to fit forward facing. But you are right, I assume it would be quicker to take the I-anchor seat off the base and turn it round.

As a childminder I would have thought the Stages would be more useful, as it's also a high backed booster. I guess your trips out are generally with babies and pre-schoolers, but a lot of children hit 18kgs before they are 4 (and some children are almost 5 before they go to school) so unless you buy a 25kgs rear facing seat those heavier children are going to need a high backed booster. Unless you've already got one of course.

I think the I-anchor is a good buy when they do these offers with the free base.

Thanks AliceMum09

I have a Ford S Max and apparently, due to the short seatbelt the only way to fit a stages is the alternative method which looks a bit complicated so I thought I'd look at alternatives. It also looks more difficult to get them in as the seatbelt is in the way. Do you find this at all?

I already have three high back boosters that I use for my school aged mindees. I think I would definitely prefer ease of longevity in a seat.

I was also looking at the steadi but can't find anywhere to try it out before I buy it.

Cheers

Ah yes, I'd heard of Fords having shorter seat belts.

I only used the Stages for a few days in my car (it was bought for my parents car really) and I thought the seatbelt issue was going to bug me after having my 3 year old in a Britax Multi Tech II for a couple of years where the seatbelt is not in the way at all. But it was fine, my car is a similar style to yours (Peugeot 5008) so because the car is 'high up' and the roof is quite high I was able to post DD2 in over the top of the seatbelt, she just had to duck her head down a bit!

The Steadi fits with the seatbelt in the same way, so I'd go for the I-anchor if you can get them on offer.
