Group 2/3 Britax kids XP Sict or Cybex solution X fix

Hi after my previous rather confused thread we are now planning to buy DD ( 4 years 5 months and 16.4kg) a group 2/3 and move DS 27 months into her Britax multi tech iI.

I think we have narrowed it down to the two above - they are both in stock at the shop we use and they are recommending these.
Does anyone have any experience and pros / cons to share?
Or indeed is there anything significantly better we should look at too?

Which? seem to like the Britax high backed boosters, but the isofix XP one they have tested (the XP refers to the chest pad for the seatbelt I think) isn't a Best Buy like all the others. The KidFix SL SICT, the KidFix XP SICT and the KidFix SICT isofix ones are all Best Buys. I get confused with all the names, but basically I don't think you can go wrong with a Britax high backed booster and actually they say the KidFix XP isofix just misses out on being a Best Buy by 3%

The only thing I'd be concerned about is the video I've seen online of a boy in an XP high backed booster leaning forward in the seat and the XP pad on the seatbelt preventing it from retracting. The belt was left slack across his body. But of course you will be able to try the seat at the shop before you buy it I assume.

I'm not sure if it's the exact one you are looking at, but Which? say the Cybex Solution X2-Fix isofix seat is one of the best group 2-3 car seats that they have tested.

I'm well aware that Which? don't use the best methods to compile their tests scores - my DD2 (aged 3 1/2) is rear facing in a Multi Tech II that according to Which? is a Don't Buy seat Hmm, but their reviews of high backed boosters seem a bit more logical.

Thanks for your reply. I get to a point where I start overanalysing these decisions ! I think we are looking at 2 good seats but which may not have tested them both .. If no I've pops up with any negatives I will probably just see what DH and I think when we see them.
DS is going to be excited to get his big sisters seat anyway.

I have just got the Britax Kidfix XP. Bought because other DC has the older style one (not XP) when it was recommended Which Best Buy. Didn't like the SOft a latch style.

The Kidfix XP is more or less exactly the same as the old one just with the extra shoulder pad. Tbh I am not that keen on it.... However, it is VERY easy to remove it, which we might well do.

Please can you share a link to the video?n also, why did it miss out by 3%, what was Which? Problem with it?

Thanks for your reply - I think the guy in the shop said neither of these exact models have been Which tested but they are both I think very close to others that have been highly rated. I also have a Multi tech II so am happy to veer slightly away from just following which

Dd isn't old enough for these, but have you let your cd sit in the seats in the shop?

One might be far comfier than the other, depending on the shape of your child.

We have several cybex boosters, and they are very comfy but bulky and a pain to fit 3 across. They are not very stable unbelted so would definitly fit isofix versions if i bought again. Two of mine have broken after 5 years of hard slog (winglets detatched, styrofoam ones not plastic) so am now looking into repair/replacements.
OP having seen the Cybex and britax side by side would you say the britax is as bulky?
I also like the look of the besafe izi up as its slightly less bulky.
