Hi just about to purchase 2 HBBS for 4yo DS1 so DS2 can move into his ERF. I've looked at which one and the maxi cos rodi seats have a good safety rating and are mid priced. There are a few different models in halfords. is the quality similar for them all does anyone know. price range from £75- £125 so quite a difference especially when buying 2.

I'm not sure, you could try Which, you can usually register for £1 for the first month and then cancel. Also, if looking to buy 2 seats then try kiddicare as they usually offer a discount for buying multiples of the same thing.

Thanks I am, I did that a few months ago and have the printout (somewhere!) I think it was the air protect and the sp, and had very similar ratings. The 3rd is the SRS which they didn't review but of course is the cheapest! also considering the britax kidfix.

I have 4 HBB, all different and my Britax is my favorite, it seems to have the best side impact and provides the best support for an asleep child! It is just a straight up child sits on it and has the seatbelt round them affair, the adventure hi liner. I freely admit I am unclear as to the benefits of having an isofix as a HBB given that the only benefit isofix brings with other seats is avoiding fitting it wrong but it has been a while since I did any investigation into it.

I have two Britax Adventures and really like them. I agree that it's easy for a child to sleep in them, their body doesn't slump down at all and they just rest their head to the side on the nice deep headrest. They are RRP £60 but always on sale for £30 somewhere.

I also have a Britax Kidfix, which is equally good. I'm not sure that being ISOFIXed into the car gives a great safety advantage, but it does mean you don't have to remember to fasten the seatbelt over the empty seat if you are driving without your child in the car.

I've been looking at the Which? reviews of HBBs recently for a friend, I seem to think most of the Britax ISOFIX ones got a 'Best Buy' status, the Maxi Cosi missed out because they said it was quite unstable if used without being attached to the ISOFIX and there was quite a big difference in the results from the two different modes. All the Britax ones got similar results whether used with or without being attached to the ISOFIX. But the Maxi Cosi results when used with ISOFIX were similar to the Britax results, so if you were only going to use it with the ISOFIX either brand would be ok. Hope that makes sense!
