My DD is 9 months old, 9kg and tall (just below 91st centile for height). Currently in a Besafe iziGo car seat group 0+ with about 2cm above her head.

We definitely want ERF. Our car is a 2005 VW Polo with isofix. We travel to Ireland several times a year, stays vary between weekend to a few weeks. While there we have use of two cars- a Nissan Micra and a Qashqai, both of which have isofix. Ideally we want a seat that is not too heavy to travel with, and can be transferred reasonably easily- would be using each car for several days at a time so won't be doing multiple changes each day. Have been considering a Britax 2 way Elite or a Besafe izi x4. Any advice/suggestions?

Bumping because we're looking for similar.

Go for the two way elite! You can't go wrong. It is so versatile, has so many different routings. Looks very comfy. Fits in most cars. 25kg weight limit so will last ages. Even though it's not isofix it is rock solid when it is rear facing in our car. We've had no issues. Just beware that (like most ERFs) it does brace on the seat in front. My Dh says it's easy to install even with the tethers.

Thanks catlass, I was thinking that might be best, just worried about the installation! Would it be worth getting a set of tethers for each country or are they light enough?

No the tethers are light enough, one set will be fine

The Britax is light weight, the tethers do not add anything to the weight. It is easy to fit but you may find it is quite upright, DD's head always dropped forwards when she fell asleep in it, and the passenger seat in front of where it is fitted will have to be quite far forward.

Don't think this is quite what you are asking but we use the Joie Tilt as our 'travel' car seat as we fly quite a lot. It's RF til 18kg, very sensible size and weight for plane travel, easy to install and fits a good range of cars. It's also one of the cheaper (cheapest?) ERF seats which makes it perfect for travel - we don't stress about it getting lost etc.
