Car seat problem

So, we've got a bigger car and assumed that if the seat belt in our smaller car went around our current car seat then it would also be long enough in a bigger car. How wrong we were!
The seat fits in fine it just seems like the seatbelt isn't long enough to stretch behind the car seat.
Any one else have Fiat Punto Easy (ours is a 62 plate) and what group 0 car seat do you use?

Is there an alternative route for the seatbelt on the carseat? We had one that had two options, although that may have been forward-facing...

We had a massive rear-facing seat once though, and the trick that worked with the short Peugeot seatbelts was the get the lap bit around the carseat, plug it in and then adjust so the chest/diagonal bit was in the correct place too.

We've tried the diagonal bit first and the lap bit first and neither way works. We have to kind of tip the car seat forward a bit to get it round. The most annoying thing is that it fit when we had a Fiat 500 when DS was born and in our Panda.

We've got a maxi cosi which came with the Streety travel system we bought when we had DS (which was crap which is why we're only reusing the car seat bit). Think its tecnical name is a Streety - fix.

Have a nasty feeling that I'll have to go to Mothercare and try out all the car seats which will also involve battling with the holiday traffic going into Torquay!

Bendy mum try it with the maxi cosi base as it uses less belt.

Think thats what we'll do misdee although DH has read somewhere that our car isn't isofix compatible cox of the floor or something

Why is this so confusing? (possibly coz I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old and have a period on the way....)

Does it have isofix but also underfloor storage? Often you can extend the support leg down to the bottom of the box rather than the lid.

Does maxi cosi do a belted base?

The easy fix base can be used with just a seat belt. As can the easybase.

Is the car seat a cabriofix or pebble?

It just came with a travel system a couple of years ago - on the seat iy just says streety fix. I'll see if I can find anymore info on the label on thd bottom.

Yep we have a Britax base and a Picasso with underfloor compartments and luckily the leg just reaches!

An update on my problem!

It looks as though the streety fix base has been discontinued as all the stockests online say its sold out and there is no UK option in the stockest finder on the bebeconfort/maxi cosi website.

We ended up going to Mothercare yesterday (and was surprised by the lack of traffic going into Torquay) and just trying all the car seats within our price range. None fit with our length seatbelts so we've gone for an isofix base and carseat. Took ages and the woman showed us a Britax carseat which swivels so you can get baby out more easily. Perfect for my poor hypermpbile self I thought and then she told me the price
