Saw this in the news lately and immediately turned to mumsnet to see what people were saying and couldn't find anything so im starting this threadSmile
The Doona is a 0-12 car seat that has a folding out buggie base on it and an extendable handle to push it. it costs a whopping £299 with very few credentials to back up the price like you would get with a maxi cosi, britax, graco etc i personally wouldn't use it because of the 2hrs maximum in a car seat i wouldn't think it safe and how heavy it looks in the video. what does everyone else think of it though pro's and con's ?

We had the seat and pram seperate, i saw the doona and read some reviews online and after playing about with it in store. I decided to get it. We have used it for 3 months now and absolutely love it. I would buy another if i had too. Great for all those quick get out and go situations. My wife uses it and for her better than carrying a seat around. Especially as the little one is getting heavier all the time.
If we are going out for a while than the bugaboo is better but very pleased with this purchase. Smile

Looks like a sham thread to me. I had the Doona. It was awful. Messed up my beige seats. They do have a bag to put over the wheels but by the time you faff with these, you might as well have got some wheels out to click in to.

We bought one of these as soon as they came out and couldn't be happier. The seat itself is well designed and weighs slightly more than the standard car seat due to the wheels being attached and is slightly wider. We noticed there's a little bit of play when the handle is fully extended for stroller mode but that's minor and doesn't affect functionality. We also ended up buying another base along with accessories such as travel bag, insect net, sun shade, wheel covers, and an extra base for our 2nd car. One tip - you don't have to get the stroller bag that clips to the front (underneath the seat) as you can use your own bag with S-Biners from Nite-Ize (size 4 works great). Having the stroller wheels attached makes this seat so much more convenient that having to lug around a separate stroller for the car seat. Highly recommend this car seat.

I know this is an old thread but thought I'd put my two-penneth worth here anyway!

We have ordered the Doona. Between us we have 4 children and a 7 seater large vehicle but with both very rear seats in wouldn't have space for a pram/chassis so this was the ideal solution for things such as holidays etc when we are all in the car. When I'm out on my own or with OH or just one or two of the kids I have a babyjogger with bassinet that I will use, I would just drop the 2 very rear seats in order to put the chassis and bassinet in the boot and use the doona as a car seat. We have also ordered the isofix as having read the reviews figured this would be the safest option. While the kids are at school I would be using the doona as a car seat and taking the babyjogger too if I'm using the car, on good weather days the babyjogger would be my main pram all the way. So basically I would only be using the doona more when I had all the family but we intend on buying a roof box so for holidays the chassis can go in that so the babyjogger again would be the most used therefore long term use of the doona would be very limited. Eventually the doona would be replaced with another car seat which would sit on the same isofix base.
Having not yet used it I can't comment but personally, for me it's an ideal solution right now!
