easy and quick (yet safe) car seat to install

We live in London and don't really have any cause for a car at the moment and are thinking of hiring cars more for outings and signing up for one of those zip car style things. If so we would need a car seat for a 2 year old and I think it would be easier to buy one to keep at one at home!
As zip cars etc you pay by the hour we would obviously want something quick to attach -but obviously safe. and fit multiple cars?

Any recommendations?

Go to a good shop & ask them for their advice, get them to show you why it's easy to use. As a rule, most big brands will be easy enough to fit properly in most cars as long as you understand how to fit properly. There are lots of videos on Youtube which show the principles how to firmly fit seats (knee in hard, etc).

I'd get a Kiddy Guardian. Impossible to fit wrong, very quick, very light and turns into a high back booster when they are bigger

Zip Cars should all be new enough to have ISOFIX. Do Zip Cars not offer a child seat service? If not, perhaps it's something they should think about.

Thanks I'll have a look at installation videos. No zip cars you just collect off the street so I don't think they could all have car seats inhaled in the back - although I would live that!

Kiddy all the way. SO easy to fit, lightweight and comfy, my son loves his.

Another vote for Kiddy.

We are taxi/hirecar/clubcar users, and we have an Energy (rather than a Guardian), which is a bit lighter but doesn't turn into a high back booster.

They're as safe as you can get unless you ERF, but ERF isn't practical to lug to/from the car.
