So dd is coming up to a year & is getting too long for her maxi cosi baby seat - she doesn't weigh enough for the car seats that go from 1 year+ yet so we're looking at birth - 4 car seats.

After extensive research dh has narrowed the choice down to the Maxi Cosi Milofix & Besafe iZi Combi X3 ISOfix, but there is about £100 difference between the 2 & I'm just wondering if its worth it?

Does anyone have either of the above seats & what do you think of them?

I have 2 besafes, an x1 and an x3. They are fab, safe and I love them. It has passed the Swedish plus test which the maxi cosi hasn't iirc.

They are big though and either need to touch the seat in front or have 25cm clearance.

Saying that, I have an x3 in a Clio. Front passenger seat has v restricted legroom though.

Besafe! Good quality build, better leg room, probably a longer shell.

If you can wait for the Besafe Izi Plus it is RF til 25kg and is longer than the other besafe and is £299.

Isofix isn't any safer if installed properly.

Also according to www.rearfacingtoddlers.com The Isofix iZi Kid now costs 299.99 and the belt fitted version is only 249.99.

I have a besafe and an axkid. I would also check out the axkid minizone. My nearly 6 yr old could still fit the axkid and the way the harness and head support adjusts is fantastic.

Thanks ladies!

We have an estate car so size isn't really an issue, it was more whether or not it's worth paying more for a car seat. I know this sounds stupid but is it best to pay as much as you can for a car seat (assuming they all have to pass the same safety checks)? I mean you can get some car seats for about £40!

I don't drive & am a sahm so most of the time dd won't be in the car but obviously want her to be as safe as poss when in it.

Anyway thanks, looks like the besafe ones are the way to go!

We looked at the Milofix but I was put off by the fact that it doesn't recline at all.
