We've been offered one of these car seats from a friend but I can't find any safety reviews because they don't seem to be made any longer. Does anyone know why it's no longer made or any concerns regarding it's safety?
Thanks.

It's basically a really old seat, so i'd avoid it anyway - check out the sticker on the seat that states the ECE rating. If it is ECE R44.02 or less it's no longer legal, if it's ECE R44.04 it's going to be reaching expire-y very soon, as seats only last 6-10 yrs x

Ok thanks. I didnt realise they became illegal! Does that mean they aren't safe to use because the quality isn't good enough any more compared to newer seats or just that through time they may not function as well?

We had one of these (new) and our DD is only 5 1/2 now. They aren't that old.

It means that they won't pass current crash test standards (I mean, they might but they haven't been tested to current standards)

Seeing as the current standard is only 1 frontal impact at 30mph, and the crash testing was less then, I wouldn't want to use it, impo
