Please talk to me about the BeSafe Izi Sleep and Izi Go

I have a Britax Babysafe (older, non-reclining version) which is currently 15 months old any not been used much. I am pg with DC2 due in December but have been looking at new car seats. I'm looking a the BeSafes as they're so highly rated safety wise, and look seriously comfy.

I was wanting an izi sleep as I like the reclining function and it seems very useful for being out and about with the baby sleeping. But I've just read the stokke version is very heavy, so assuming the besafe one is too. Is that right?

And what about the izi go? If the izi sleep is really heavy maybe I would go for the go, but is there any point when I have a Britax one?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

My opinion is save the money for a decent rearfacer beyond the baby seat. Maybe even invest in the base.

However do check you babysafe wasnt part of the recall- worse case if it is you will get another free.

I've checked the Babysafe and luckily it's not affected.

I was going to get a base for whatever I buy, or for the Babysafe if I keep that as a base is so much easier than faffing with belts.

We have a Mobi and Izi Combi X2, as well as a Kiddy Infinity Pro and will have a Guardian Pro when our insurance company finally get round to replacing the one we had destroyed after an accident. These seats are only used for my DD and DN who are both 22 months. The ERF's we have are obviously not suitable for a newborn. I was hoping that by the time the baby grows out of the infant carrier, so maybe 15 months-ish, then DD and DN will be about 3 and a half so one can just go in a Kiddy seat while the other and the baby go in the ERF's. I have planned it all out, honest! And we can also see ourselves using an infant carrier for baby to sleep in for a bit while at others' houses, and would be useful for putting on the pushchair chassis too.

I know that I will have the baby in the car seat when at others' houses so I want the most suitable one for that. So while I know it's not great for a baby to be in a normal car seat, I'm thinking that if it's a lie flat or very reclined seat that that will be better for those occasions.

It just won't be very practical to use a sling much for me personally as it'll make it difficult for me to jump up and stop DD or DN pulling things off shelves or bashing each other over the head, that kind of thing! We're also often with lots of other mums and toddlers and it's just plain dangerous for tiny babies with them all around so I want somewhere safe to have baby when she's sleeping.

And there is no way I'm living without a pushchair, I'm looking at doubles because I know my DD far too well and it'd be blummin hard work without one! Wink
