Dilemma front or back seat

Hello, this is my first time posting on here and I could do with some advice. We have a landrover discovery first series and due to stupidly short seat belts my daughters infant car seat (maxi cosi Cabriofix) has to be in the front passenger seat (not ideal I know but no other car sear fitted when we tried last year) she has been fine in the front, however my friend suggested I tried her nania in the back as it rear faces and it fits great in the back. I know these seats are less liked and are a lot cheaper but I am wondering if she is safer in the back in the nania car seat or in the front in her cabriofix. she is 9 months but needs to be rear facing.

Thanks for all your help

I personally would say she is safer in the back, only because of the air bag in the front - am presuming youve turned it off already.

Thanks for getting back to me, the car is an M reg so doesnt even have a front air bag in it.

Nania seats only rf to 10kg so your DD may already be too heavy for it (or close). I'd keep her in the front in the Maxi Cosi and then go for a seat like a Two Way Elite as it has two belt paths (one for shorter seat belts and one for longer ones).

Hi everyone, thanks for you responses. I had looked at getting an extended rearfacing carseat just need to find somewhere thats local to me to fit it. She is a little dot at not even 17lb yet so thinking it may have lasted her a while longer and as it is on loan it wouldnt matter as it would only be short term. Will definately look into ERF. Just out of interest does anyone know where you can try them in the Midlands.

Is it an option to look at a MaxiCosi base for the cabriofix and fit it in the rear?

Look at rearfacing.co.uk for stockists.
