DD is 33 months and in a besafe izi combi in my car and a britax first class plus (RF) in DH's car. She's only tiny and weighs about 11kg so well within weight limit for both. Thinking about getting a kiddy guardian for grandparents/babysitter to use easily as they struggle with getting her inot the first class (the seatvbelt really gets in the way) and also with the fact that only DH can fit the first class as it's not straightforward at all. I also think if we owned one it would help for nursery run share with neighbours (who have a biggish 3yr8m old who travels in a HB booster and to mean DD and her friends of the same age could both go in my car with her in the besafe and them in the guardian (I am the only person I know who has a RF toddler so know other parents would be happy with this option)

I'm just wondering if I am being hideously irresponsible in thinking about allowing my DD to travel forward facing before she is 4? It would not be often but would make things tons easier for her wonderful grandparents (who take her out about 1-2x a month) and for our fab regular babysitter who has a 3 door car (and may well nanny for us when I have DC2)

I moved my DD (41 months) into a Kiddy Guardian Pro from a RF Britax Multitech about four months ago as we can only have one RF due to DH's driving position and DS needed to come out of his Maxi Cosi. I'm really pleased with it (and DD loves it).

The main issue with forward facing is the risk of the head snapping forward in a crash but the whole point of the Kiddy is that their body moves as well, well this is how I sold it to myself! It's much more comfortable that the Britax and really well padded. I'm almost tempted to get DS one as well as he's big and strong for his age (he's 12.7kg at 18 months) but am hanging on to the RF for a bit longer.

It's just my opinion but the Kiddy is the only front facing I considered putting DD in before she was 4.
