Rearward facing stage 1 seat with isofix. Do these exist?

Trying to find a new carseat for Ds (9 months) he still fits in his cabriofix but we want to research and maybe buy now to avoid panic buying in a few months. Love the idea of the isofix as I feel really safe with his isofix baby seat but cannot seem to find a seat that is both isofix and rear facing. Looked at the maxi cosi opal (not isofix) and it just seemed so wobbly when it was rearward facing.
If I cannot find a rearward facing seat the britax safefix plus is my favourite so far.
I wish they just sold a seat that was isofix, rear/forward facing, rotates (like the maxicosi axis) there is too much choice and I am not very good at decision making. Smile

What about the besafe izi combi? You can turn it round either way and you can get an isofix version. They are expensive though! I have the non-isofix older X2 in my car for my niece and it looks super comfy. My DD is in a Maxi cosi Mobi and the besafe is far more luxurious and lovely looking!

The besafe izi combi is really good, DD loves hers. There is also the recaro polaric.

I spotted that John Lewis have the besafe now, as well as the recaro, so if you are a long way from any of the specialist suppliers you might be able to see them there- I don't know what their fitting & demonstration policy is like though.

Have a look on the rear facing website and find your nearest supplier, give them a call and see what options they have. Most will stock at least one.

One thing to consider though is that they are only isofix when rear facing. If you choose to turn them they have to be fitted using the belt. Certainly for the besafe anyway.

hi, there's the KISS carseat. i had one and have a britax hi-way 2 and a brritax two way elite atm. the hi way and twe are rock solid in my car and are great seats with both rf to 25kgs. the kiss wobbled a bit but that's because they can move about slightly on the isofix bars iykwim. the isofix seats are only suitable to 18kgs. isofix is no safer when rf than belted as long as the seat is fitted correctly.

Another vote for Besafe Izi combi.

We have the besafe izi combi too. Great seat.

The besafe izi isofix looks great but £338 Shock I know you can't put a price on his safety but that is extortionate! Will show Dp and see what he thinks.
Thanks Smile

the kiss was £300 and the hi-way was 200 and the twe 190.

you could also look the Besafe iZi Kid isofix, it retails less than the Combi at £308 because it only rear faces and does not forward face as well like the Combi does.
Securatot have some ex demos coming up for sale in the Besafe iZi Combi isofix range which will be a good price !
Hope that helps,
Kirsty

Besafe izi combi isofix would be my recommendation too. It is expensive, but it'll last until baby is 3 or 4 years old.

DD is 3.5 and still in her izi combi

bumbleymummy · 17/03/2012 20:59

recaro polaric. Fantastic, and John Lewis do it.
