Should I get a new seat?

DS2 is 7 months old but weighs in at a hefty 21lb + he is just about grown out of his stage 0 car seat, his head is just beginning to poke over the top. I have been resisting movi g him into the next stage seat as I know it's. It necessarily about age and weight but more about the strength of their neck.

I have been looking into stage 1 seats and whilst I would like a rear facing seat I really can not afford it. I have been looking at the baby weavers ones on kiddicare. Does anyone have one of these? My car doesn't take an isofix base either.
All recommendations greatfully received.

My mum bought the babyweaver one for her car and it is a good value seat, it reclines and is a soft all round good seat.

Get the Volvo badged Britax one! Please don't get the babyweavers one, the build quality is poop and it hasn't had any side impact protection tests, but the britax one has :)

What group 0 seat have you got? Is your son extremely tall? If he's not then I'll know to warn my pregnant friends off buying that particular seat. My daughter's still got about 6cm above her head and she's 15 months. Her body's average length (even though her legs are stumpy!).

I agree with all the above, especially getting a rebranded Multi-Tech. It's a very good investment.

I have no idea about safety of these but have you considered the Britax First Class Plus or Graco Junior Mini? Both are reasonable prices. Some of the Britax ones are £127.99 at Boots.com and the graco one is £79.99 at Boots. There's a code for boots for £15 off when you spend £100 - VCUKDEC15.

Or you can find the britax one at quite a few places for around £100.

I thought the multi-techs had gone up loads in price, but not sure. I'd definitely consider an extended rear facing seat though. I have a maxi cosi mobi which rear faces to 25kg (when my dd will be about 6+ years) and I got it as stock clearance for £130. An absolute bargain I reckon!

Thanks for your helpful suggestions. We are currently using a the car seat which was part of the travel system I had for DS1, it's not as deep as some of the newer models.

Ds2 is just level with the top of the seat. All padding removed and no coat on. Money is really tight at the moment as my washing machine just went kaput so the britax one that rear faces till 18kg is looking like the best option at the moment.

Got the britax first class plus. Fits great, looks great and DS2 loves it, especially as he can now see out of the window. And more importantly it keeps him rear facing for a while longer! Grin

Thanks again for all your help.
