Taking a Kiddy Infinity Pro or other impact shield seat to sit in on a flight.

Has anyone any experience of taking a Kiddy Infinity Pro or similar on a flight?

Any issues due to the fact that it doesn't look like a 'traditional' seat?

We would probably be flying easyjet and their rules mention 5 point harnesses, but also say for children 2 - 3 years 'Any suitable car-type safety seat or seat/safety belt'.

Thanks.

My friend bought one in the uk a few years ago and took it on the plane for their child to sit in. All the way to nz. They took it to check it and had granny stood with the box incase int needed to go in the hold.

Easyjet can be a pain friend had a seat that seamed to fit criteria. They took a print out of what it said on website with them. But at the end of the day the needed the seat on holiday and wanted not to pay for it to go in the hold. I don't think they were able to use it. Its down to cabin crew

Kiddy car seats are particularly well-suited for travelling by plane since they are so light and easy to install correctly. They may now be used in any aircraft anywhere in the world.
Occasionally seatbelts differ in length, but if the seatbelt is to short, all planes are equipped with an extension so this can be adjusted on site. If the belt is too long, kiddy sells a seatbelt shortener which may be purchased directly. So if you are planning to fly with your kiddy car seat, it is worth purchasing one before you set off.

kiddy seatbelt shortener rrp £4.50

Hope that helps

I wasn't allowed to take mine on Flybe as their rules stated that it had to have a five point harness!

Which was daft, as it fitted in the seat fine and would have been a lot safer than DS wriggling halfway out of his seat during take off and landing.

Why are aeroplane seats not safe enough already?
It's pants having to take your own booster...they should be doing something about it.

It's a genious idea taking a seat on a flight, I've always felt sorry for kids on planes when they can't get comfy to sleep and get restless, then you end up with deathlooks! I know the Britax Eclipse is ok on flights, its 5-point harness and can be fitted with lap-belt, has a fantastic recline for when little one sleeps. - Is it just to take on the flight?

If you are wanting to use the car seat in the other country (in the car) then check with the airline for the kiddy,

Hello BranchingOut,
Could you please let us know if you finally used your Kiddy seat on the easy jet flight. I am about to have the same issue.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
