Extended rear facers- when did/will you switch to FF?

I got asked today when I planned on switching DS (20 months) to forward facing. I hadn't really thought about switching him yet...or even when I was going to!

With DD, she rear faced until 2yrs in a Britax First Class Si. DS is in a Britax TWE and very happy so we'll just keep him that way. He has more room than DD did in the First Class...plus I am much more informed about the benefits of RF.

At what age did you swap from RF to FF? WHat prompted the move? What sort of seat did they go into when they were switched?

DD1 rear faced until she was a few months over 4 years old - I've said this many times on here so I hope I'm not boring everyone - we turned her ffing in the TWE because she is tall and very leggy and with 3 rfing across the backseat (DD1 in a TWE, DD3 in a Britax First Class and DD2 in a Britax Nordic Secura) there just wasn't room for her to cross her legs as DD3's car seat was in the way of her knee so she was cramped.

If we had a 7 seater (and had enough money to buy another ext. rfing seat) DD1 would still be rearfacing now at 5.2y/o 113cm+ & 20kg. DD2 now has the TWE & DD3 has the NS.

DD1 is now boostered in a Sunshine Kids Monterey and will stay there until she reaches at least 145cm.

DD2 is 3.6y/o, 105cm & 16kg and is staying rfing until at least 4 though as she has arthritis we may keep her rfing longer as the risk of leg/arm injuries is higher ffing.

DD3 is only 19m so has at least 2 & a bit years to go before I'd consider turning her ffing.

Planning to keep DS RF until he outgrows his RF seat TBH. I figured about 4 or 5 years old, depending on his weight. Basically once he's big enough to go into a booster.

DS is 2 years and still rearfacing in a TWE. i will keep him RFing till age 4 providing he is still happy to. he gets bad car sickness and im not sure if the rearfacing is contributing to it. he could still be sick forward facing but im not going to see just yet. He doesnt complain about being Rfing as he doesnt know any different and i think he would see less if he was forward facing as currently he has a mirror in the back giving him an all round view of the car. People think im nuts still having him rearfacing because it isnt the 'done' thing is this country but id be a nervous wreck having him forward facing any time soon.

DD1 when she was nearly 4 (in a TWE) but she is an extremely tall child and was getting cramped (we also have quite small cars). DD2 is still happily rearfacing at 3.7 and will stay that way for at least a few more months.

I had to turn dd1 round earlier than I woudl have hoped too (although she was still over 3!), as she kept getting her feet stuck between the bottom of her seat and the back of the car's seat, iyswim? she had large feet, and could not figure out what to do with them to keep them out of the way (she has severe ASD), and each time I took her out of the seat, her feet would get stuck, and I was worried abotu jarring/twisting her knee (makes sense if you have ever had to deal with complete non-awareness and non-understanding of body in space/time etc)

dd2 is 4.3 and is still RF. she only weighs about 13kg, so has a long way to go weight wise, and is perfectly happy and comfy where she is. I suspect she will get too tall for the seat before she gets too heavy.
