BeSafe IZI Combi X1 - opinions please

I have the chance to get an ex-display BeSafe IZI Combi X1 locally for £220. If anyone has one I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts on this seat.

For info, the baby's not here yet and we can borrow an infant carrier until this seat fits. The shop doesn't have any other RF seats and I assume they may not have any others when I really need one, in which case I'd be looking at getting one delivered.

I'm thinking it's only a bargain if it's a good seat though. Not sure if I should wait and get the X3 or a different model later this year. Thoughts please?

The seat is fab - one of the safest around, but having said that the x3 version will last you longer (because of the extended head bit), which you might be glad of later on...... Might be an idea to see if the besafe fits, and then you can think through whether the extra expense for the x3 version is worth it for the extra 6 months or so that the x3 might give you? It's all swings and roundabouts really!

I've got the x1 version and now dearly wish the x3 was out when I bought mine as it would have just given us that much longer in a seat that I absolutely love :) !! but such is life!

£220 seems a lot for an ex-display

i've never even seen the X1. we have the X2, and as you say that has now been superceded too by the X3.

we paid £250 for our X2

have you checked it fits in your car? it does take up quite a lot of room.

Its rated as really safe but you cannot transfer it easily between cars if anything like the izi besafe isofix one. Also my passenger seat is pushed to the furthest setting forward to get it in (peugeot 307). It is much less wobbly than other seats though when it is fitted.

We've got the x1 (so it turns out, am a bit miffed but that's for another day)

It's great. I love it and DD seems to be comfortable (she's only 10 months so she can't tell me, but she sleeps in it which is good enough for me). She's really secure in it - there's no wriggle room for escaping when she gets bigger, the straps adjust to a very snug fit. I'd have preferred to have the magnetic seat belt holders that the x3 has to make it slightly easier getting DD in and out, but it's not like it's a huge battle at the moment.

We've got the isofix version, and it's totally solid in the back of my punto. DD is really high up so she can see out of the side and back windows.

We paid full price - £360 Angry - for ours, I didn't realise it was the x1 at the time. But it is worth it Smile

Thanks everyone. It is the isofix version and we're going to see if it fits tomorrow.
