What comes after the baby seat?

Sorry if this has been done a thousand times but... we need to get the next seat now that DS has outgrown the baby carrier. Which one does everybody get? We had the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix first time round as it seemed to be the most popular one (herd mentality I know) - what do people generally get after that?

Cheers.

We went for the britax group 1 Duo plus here. I think most people go for a forward facing 5 point harness one from around 9 months (9kg) if baby has grown out of the rear facing infant carrier.

how old is your lo? the maxico-si should do him until about 18months,then he can go forward facing if you prefer, but rearfacing is much safer.
if you want to go forward facing the new style seats are ones with an impact cushion instead of a harness,as they perform much better in crash tests, - kiddy comfort pro and also the cybex pallas

i had a cabrio for ds1 and i got him a britax two way elite when he was 9 months. if he had been getting a ff seat i would have waited until he was the 13kgs. mindee went into KISS car seat at a year and ds2 is still in cabrio but will go into a rf group 1 too. you can look on www.rearfacing.co.uk for more info.

My DS had a cabriofix as well, and like the last two posters he's now in a Besafe Izi Combi belt fitted and KISS (when in my husband's van or granny's car). He's now approaching 3 and absolutely loves them both- has a great view all around (they're very high up), and I'm happy knowing he's in the safest options possible :) Hope that helps :)
