Neck support to stop head falling forwards?

Bought our britax baby safe plus shr II from the lovely ladies at milton keynes last september. Of all the car seats they had this was the only one that would go in our stupid car, a Toyota corolla, without leaning dd forward to much.

Now 5 months we are experiencing problems with her head falling forwards when asleep and so problems breathing

Is there a neck support I havn't been able to find on google that stops a head from falling forwards not sideways?

A search on here found another thread with similar problems and the recommendation was to contact britax for a site visit from their tech team. However,
Rarely use the car so only just noticed the problem this weekend and next 2 weekends involve long distance travel to family.

Any thoughts?

I have seen a neck support which fastens around the chest strap which looked really good, can't remember what it was called though

Aha, it's called a Cosysnooze Seat Belt Pillow, I saw them in Mothercare and thought they'd be good for my 6 year old who always falls asleep and looks really uncomfortable. Might not be suitable for a 5 month old, but have a look anyway.
I never found the things that wrap around the neck much use.
For long journeys could one of you sit in the back beside her and prop her up? Or an older sibling might be useful for this if there is one available :o

Thanks alphamum, that does look comfy but like you say not sure how/if it would work for a 5 month old. I did end up sat in the back
Propping her head up, but that meant she didn't sleep and is not very good at daytime naps anyway!

The only other one I found was the kiddopotumus cradler which seemed to be flat at the back

Unless I used one of the regular neck supports and used it backwards - but they all look enormous

Hmmmm

is the seat fitted at the correct angle?

you can get little meck pillows in halfords/tesco/babyshops which help, ours was a tommee tippee one from tesco, was about £6.

Yep fitted at correct angle. it's just thahousing isofix base and the angle of the seats in our car means that it naturally tilts forward The ladies at Milton Keynes described the combination of our car and the britax as the best of a bad bunch

Will try the kiddopotamus and see

cant u fit it in with one of those foam wedges underneath it to soften the angle?

MooM00 · 08/03/2011 13:46

I put ours in belted, and (as per the instruction book) have put a wedge under it to compensate for the slopiness of our car's seat. It's the car not the britax seat that's our problem, we've tried maxi cosi and m and p too.

sazm · 08/03/2011 16:09

the m&p seat is very upright anyway, but with a slope on the carseat is hopeless,
i used a rolled up towel to try the difference on our graco and worked a treat,
im sure the wedge we got was made by 'sunshine kids'
