Reclining car seat for 5 yr old??

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a car seat that reclines for a 5 yr old (about 21kg). She currently uses a booster seat but we have to do a very long drive overnight (and back overnight too) and last time we did this she was so uncomfortable stuck sitting upright. Any ideas appreciated.

Al ot of boosters with backs have a recline feature they are also a lot safer if your car has issofix getting one that goes on issofix gives a more stable recline. The britax ones seam the best not sure if the adventure has a pull out wedge to recline it but all the others do. I know they are more expensive than a booster but they do stay in them until 11 and are much more comfortable and safer. Mine said the graco one not comfortable but they would have been happy with any of the other maxi-cosy, britax, concorde, jane or cybex ones. Best to try in your car as some may fit better than others

Does your car have isofix? If so then the Britax Kidfix is excellent.

We just got one of these for 4yr old dn. You have to recline it before child sits in it as the leaver thing is where they sit, but we keep ours reclined as dn likes it that way. He says it is a very comfy seat and that he loves it.

Boosters dont recline as much as what the toddler seats do but the kidfix reclines enough that when dn sleeps his head and body are kept back and and whithin the seat and he kind of 'snuggles' his head sideways into the headrest part (he looks very peacful and comfy).

umm how do I know if my car has Isofix? It's an OLD ford galaxy.

There is usualy an 'isofix' label attatched to the seat to tell u its got isofix. Or u could run your hand between gap in the seat (where the bottom bit meets the back iyswim) and feel for two little metal bits usualy rectangular in shape.
If it is an OLD! car then u may not have isofix points.

Try taking your car and dd to a halfords, mothercare, babys r us or somwhere where you can try them in your car and see which ones recline the most/are most comfy for your dd
