We have isofix (a renault scenic) and apparently the leg thingy is a problem as there's a storage compartment in the floor.
So what i am trying to find out is what impact that leg makes, we have a forward facing Jane booster seat, stage 3 which is isofix and doesn't have the leg at all.
Any thoughts at all ?
Thank you

I have a scienic and was wondering about the legs and the storage boxes. It seams to be in the last two years that they have started saying that some can't go and rest on the boxes

Some seam to suggest that you can make them long enough to rest on the bottom of the box.

When I got the car I looked on the britax fit finder and found that the britax isofix base for the baby seat goes in.

The instructions for the britax multi-tech do say it must not rest on a lid of a storage box.

You could see if it would go in the middle
or there are some without legs

Hi, I asked about this at the In Car Safety Centre, and apparently some car manufacturers have started reinforcing their storage lids to take up to 13kg - i.e. for an infant seat. This would be why the Britax baby seat will "fit". However, they wouldn't be suitable for a group 1 seat because the child will be heavier.

They also said that none of the seats really have legs long enough to fit on the floor of most storage compartments, so that's a bit misleading too.

It is true that footprops aren´t long enough to reach the bottom of those compartments.

I was told by Ford in Denmark that their shops do cut out thin steel plates for these rooms, so footprops can go on them.

Otherwise fill them out with books, wood etc

But what is the point of the foot prop, is it for stability, could I just take it off ?

Whatever the seats are sold with cannot be omitted in any way. Unless the user guide specifically says you can if you do so and so.

Footprops add stability to the seat, and make the use of the front seats independant. All seats without a footprop MUST lean on the front seat or dashboard, which makes the use of the front seats a little more difficult. Seats that have a footprop don´t have to tuch the front seat or dash, tough this is a good thing to do.
