Neck Support For Car Seats

I've got a Britax First Class+ Car Seat.

I was looking at neck supports for the baby - are they neccessary or just a con?

Does anyone have one they can recommend?

we had a neck support for our britax, kinda looked like a travel pillow, but the midwife at the hospital showed us how you she used to roll up a towel for the same effect

depends on the age and size of baby.

New born i'm thinking - plus we have a 5.5 hour plane journey ahead of us - when he's about 2 months - so was thinking it would be good for that too?

Have you spoken to the airline about the seat? some only allow infant carriers, I think?

In a car, as long as it's fully reclined, you shouldn't really need anything else, except fot the newborn wedge liner that comes with it, which makes it a bit flatter for the baby to lie in.

Oh, I wasn't planning on takng seat on board, I was just thinking it might be good for when it's sitting on the plane in our arms/laps - or am i being stupid naiive?

And i think the car seat doesn't recline fully.

You won't need it if you are holding the baby on the plane. Have you enquired about a skycot from the airline. It is a small bassinet for the baby to lie in during the flight.
I wouldn't have thought you would need it for the car seat either as when the seat is fully reclined and the newborn insert in the baby is pretty laid back in the seat.
