Can anyone help?? Please!
I have a carseat but no headhugger/foam wedge or strap cushioney things and can't for the life of me find where to get some without paying a million pounds. I have tried and tried and tried ebay but to no avail, I ALWAYS get outbid. I know there is somewhere you can buy them new with covers but they are about 40 squid which is a bit too much for us :-( (I do realise how important this piece of equipment is). Does anyone have any suggestions? Either where I can get hold of one OR whether any of the generic ones i.e.not maxi-cosi I have seen are any good/suitable for use on this carseat. I am 34weeks so really need to get this sorted but it's hard to know what will work and obviously don't have a baby to sit in the carseat in the shop and see if it is the right size yet... (I tend not to trust the sales assistants Confused)
So as per usual I am coming to my fellow mumsetters for their trusted advice!!

I am watching this with interest.

I have the head hugger but just realised the foam wedge insert is missing.

Don't really wanna pay £40 for one either.

I had the same problem - just kept watching and watching on ebay and eventually got one which was the perfect colour for 5pounds. So I guess best advice is to keep watching.

I also bought something called a snuzzler from kiddopotomus which fits the maxi cosi and is great for early/smallish babies for the first few weeks. Super comfortable for them and great support. Doesn't interfere with the straps at all. I noticed on ebay that they are very cheap second hand so that could be an option.

thanks MrsM I will have a look into the snuzzler (is this instead of the headhugger??).

I have been watching and waiting for weeks on ebay!!!! I really don't think I'm going to have any luck on there :-(

Does anyone have any ideas on the strap pad things?? Are they really necessary?

Strap pad thingies just make it more comfortable I think - can probably get away without. Just pads it a bit on their shoulders.

Snuzzler is instead of a head hugger to start with. If you have a look online piccies show that it sort of encompasses the little one. Is tested safe for use in car seats as doesn't interfere with the straps.

Once the bean has arrived you can trolly round and pic up a cheaper headhugger from mothercare or something when you can see how big it needs to be. We didn't use the snuzzler for more than a month I don't think, but my 'bean' turned out to be a giant! We did end up using our maxi cosi head hugger for ages though - so it would probably be worth the investment if you can find one I think.

Thanks for your help MrsM I really appreciate it! :)

Hi, I haven't found the wedge bit either (don't have a maxi-cosi but our car seat is too deep for DD.)

however it is possible to buy head huggers and shoulder pads and the ones we bought separately were much softer than those on the car seat.

shop.babyworld.co.uk/DisplayDetail.aspx?prodid=963

says its for preemies which DD was but she is now @ 8-9lb ie 'normal' newborn size and we are still using the grey part (it comes in 2 parts one fits inside the other for when they are even smaller.

Can't vouch for the website though - got mine in a local store :-)

I have bought one of the snuzzlers as a head/body hugger but not sure whether I need to get a foam wedge from somwhere too? WHere does it go? I presume it would go in a pocket in the back of the headhugger so seeing as I dont have this can I use one? Or do I need one? Is it big end down and thin end up so baby is lying back more? or does it go under their bottom??? Clueless Confused
