Worried after mammogram comment following previous breast cancer treatment

I’m having a bit of a wobble.
i went for my annual mammogram yesterday, I had a breast cancer in 2022. Mastectomy, chemo radiotherapy currently on 10 yrs of Letrozole.
The radiotherapist checked the scan and said ok you can get dressed.
Then said the usual you will receive a letter in 2/3 weeks, don’t panic if….and I was expecting her to say “ its late” which is what they always say.
instead she said “don’t panic if it’s a recall letter”. No other context given.
I am left assuming she has noticed something.
i can usually put it to the back of my mind until the letter actually arrives.
if she had said I say this to everyone that would be fine but she didn’t.
this is a whole new level of worry that there didn’t need to be.

They aren’t allowed to say if they spot something suspicious. They will say it to everyone, just warning about the protocol.

To be fair, I do see a lot of women on here panicking about recall letters so I can see why she might have adopted that as her script as that scenario is more likely to induce panic.

I had my first scan about 18 months ago. She did say don’t worry if you have a recall letter to me but then added ‘they happen quite frequently for all different kind of random reasons’ maybe she just missed the end bit off her speech?

hope all goes well @Beautyfadesdumbisforever

Oh @Beautyfadesdumbisforever my results appeared on the nhs app in a couple of days, i don’t think I ever actually received the letter

Thank you for your replies as you can imagine I’ve had quite a few mammograms and ultrasound etc and no one has ever made a comment of any sort before.
i will hang on to her having forgotten to add the last part about there being a lot of recalls.
thank you all again it’s much appreciated.

Just a quick update, I got my all clear letter today.
I’m so relieved but all that worry was so unnecessary. I have relived parts of my treatment I thought I’d put behind me…..maybe we never do.

thats great news @Beautyfadesdumbisforever I’m so glad you’ve had the all clear and sorry you’ve had such a worrying time

i do think she just missed a line off her script. Maybe you could have a chat with her to discuss?

I think that it what happened she just missed off the end of the sentence.
I don’t want to cause a problem for her I really don’t I’d rather say nothing.
I have thought about writing to the clinic and outline what happened but not giving my name so that the individual radiographer can’t be identified.
thank you for your replies.
