Partner has been found with rare tumor after appendicitis

My partner recently had appendicitis and had a operation to remove it, they did a biopsy then and now they’ve told him they found an Low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (LAMN grade 1) it’s very very rare and confusing type of tumor. They are hoping they’ve got it all when removing the tumor and no further treatment would be needed. However he may need further treatment if it’s gone beyond the appendix wall. He’s now waiting for a ct scan and colonoscopy. Can anyone share some advise if they have the same thing? He’s only 28 so I’m worried about him

No connection to that type of tumour but perhaps push for a full body PET scan for reassurance.
Very shocking for you both.

"What is a LAMN I?
A low grade mucinous neoplasm (LAMN I) is a growth found in your appendix. We use this term when the growth is very early and has not spread anywhere. This type of growth is not considered cancerous."

Macmillan have a support line if you would find it helpful to talk things through with someone.
