Hello @pinkchampagne and @meredusoleil - I'm sorry I can't find the original thread but was just wondering how your DF and DH respectively are getting along - hope all is going well.

Thanks for asking.

My dh started his first cycle of chemo recently and is touch wood coping quite well with it!

He can't eat or drink anything cold, had some neuropathy, did almost lose his voice yesterday and is more tired than usual. But otherwise doing OK 👍

Thanks for asking after us, POOhsticks.
Dad is still waiting to see his oncologist following his liver ablation surgery to find out what the plans are regarding his treatment. He hasn’t resumed his chemo yet following the surgery in March. He had an MRI a few weeks ago and a CT last Wednesday. His oncology appointment was meant to be in the afternoon on that day but it got cancelled as they wanted both scan results first. His oncology appointment is now next Wednesday. I always feel anxious when he goes for these appointments as I know they have his scan results.

Glad to hear that your DH is tolerating the chemo quite well. My dad seemed to cope ok with it too. He experienced the tingly fingers, dry hands and tiredness, but other than that he seemed ok.
How many cycles of chemo is your DH having?

He has to have 4 cycles of 3 weeks each (2 on 1 off), so 3 months in total.

My Dad’s oncology appointment went quite well yesterday. Apparently his bowel tumour has reduced a little, which amazed me as he only managed 2 rounds of the stronger chemotherapy before it stopped for his liver surgery. He was also told that it looks like the liver procedure was successful but they can’t say for sure until Kings have looked at it.

The plan going forward is for my dad to have 5 weeks of daily radiotherapy to hopefully shrink the tumour down a bit more and then they are hoping to do the big operation to remove the bowel tumour.

Glad to hear some positive news there - please keep us updated with his progress. Having been through bowel cancer myself, and come out the other side, I can;t help thinknig of others who find themselves in the same position.
