Morning all.
I would like friendly advice please, as I’m kinda worrying here , I went to the DR Monday with a what I thought was a blister on my chest, she looked at it with a dermascope I think she said it was, anyway… she said it looks like a pink lesion, and said she would refer me over to the skin cancer clinic, she said it was a 2 week wait… Tuesday morning I had a call from the Clinic saying I have an appointment next week.

im kinda worried as hell as I’ve googled loads and put this picture in to google and it’s come up as “skin cancer”
i know I shouldn’t have googled anything but I was curious about things…. Has anyone had anything like this ?? Any friendly advice?? This is the picture of what it looks like… It’s not that big, I’ve zoomed in so you can see it better. Thank you guys x

Had similar and Practice Nurse tried taking a photo, then Dermatology tried taking one...after about two months, saw a consultant who said it was sun damage and within a week I had prescription cream. Six week course with two days off each week. Relatively painless but occasionally itches like b. Consultant appointment in May to check treatment has worked.
Hope yours is equally uncomplicated - good luck

I can't tell you if it is or not but do know that dermatology clinics usually fast track just in case. Even if it is, skin cancer is normally caught very early and just treated by an excision under local anaesthetic. I've had two melanoma and other moles removed as a precaution which were normal. The hardest part is coming to terms with the word cancer, when for most people, excision means the cancer has gone.

Don't panic. I had similar experience last year. The dermatologist clinics are amazing in this country, and they will sort things out. The procedures are painless and the staff are all very competent and kind.

It’s impossible to know, but you’re doing the right thing getting it checked. The GP at first said to me that mine was ‘just a sun spot’ and wouldn’t refer me. I waited a few months and went back. Finally got referred. Even dermatologist said maybe squamous cell carcinoma, nothing to be too worried about but he’d remove it.

It turned out to be melanoma and a particularly aggressive sort at that. It didn’t look like your photo, but there are lots of different types. The most obvious sign for me was how quickly it appeared and grew. Either way though, the best thing is just to get it checked. If the dermascopy photos flag anything, they’ll remove and biopsy it. Hopefully will all turn out to be nothing, but always better to have it looked at.

I’m in a similar situation! What happened?
