Mass in lower abdomen, now chest CT

My GP referred me for abdomen and pelvis CT scan and to see a colorectal consultant after finding a large mass in my lower abdomen.
My bloods are all fine (including CA125) , except iron deficiency anemia. I'm in my early 40s, pre-menopause.
I saw the consultant last week, a couple of days after the CT scan. The CT report wasn't available yet, but I had a negative FIT test and the consultant was confident the issue is not colon related. He was able to see the CT pictures and thinks it's uterine, but as he is no expert in this couldn't tell me more. He referred urgently to gynecology. A day later he called and told me the gyn consultant wants me to have an abdomen/pelvis MRI and also a chest CT and will see me once that's done. I should get appointments for the next week or so.
I was hoping it's a fibroid or something similar. Anyone got similar experience?

From my experience, they want to do all the scans and all the tests to check for everything before making a diagnosis. I had lots of scans and tests done before they told me.

it might be nothing, might be something. They are just being through. Fingers crossed you get the results you want.

It's so scary going through all the tests and waiting for results. I hope it turns out to be something that can be dealt with relatively easily. Thinking of you.

I had a scan which showed a large mass . Turns out I had big fibroids on my womb and I needed a hysterectomy. I had the op a few weeks later and there was no cancer involved . They also removed one ovary which was damaged and took a 10cm cyst off the other. My recovery took a while as they had had to open my abdomen up vertically as the womb was so big , but I felt that I had won the lottery cos no more heavy painful periods .
Good luck with your diagnosis .
