Breast pain and lump in armpit

Hello, I'm looking for reassurance really as I've been in tears for the last 2 days.
Last summer I started getting a dull ache/pain in my right breast so I went to the doctors and was referred for an ultrasound as I have breast implants and they can't check properly by hand. I got the all clear and got on with my life.

However about 4 weeks ago I started to get the same pain in the same breast and then 2 days ago I notice a painful lump under my armpit on the same side. The lump is about the size of a pea and can be moved around. It's tender to the touch.

I've been to the doctors this morning and they have referred me to the breast clinic but I'm beside myself with worry.
I'm 34 and have 2 very young children and I'm petrified of the worst case scenario.

For preference I'm not breastfeeding or ill.

Does anyone have any advice for me or reassurance?

No one can diagnose you on the internet, but I’ve been referred to the breast clinic three times in the past few years and these are some of the things I’ve been told by consultants that might help reassure you.

Painful, mobile lumps in the breast and armpit that arrive quickly are usually due to local infection (this is what I had) - cancerous lumps are normally fixed, painless and grow slowly over time.

The huge majority of referrals to breast clinics are for benign reasons, like over 95%. Most of their referrals are just for reassurance and nothing sinister is found.

Some people just suffer with breast pain, I’m 47 and I’ve easily had it for well over a decade, usually on the right side.

I have no idea what the risk of breast pain or infections are with implants, but I would expect it to be higher just because there is something foreign in there.

Keeping everything crossed for you, hopefully the above helps you with your current anxiety, there really is a much higher chance of this being something easily treatable than not.
