Suspected gyno cancer: Just want to share good new in case anyone is constantly looking as I have been

As I’ve spent countless hours searching for similar experiences. I just wanted to share my story in case anyone else is going through uncertainty and reads this and it might offer some reassurance.
During a routine smear the nurse said cervix looked abnormal, smear test came back negative, no symptoms and healthy. GP referred me on two week wait, consultant did a colposcopy and sat me down and said we need to be prepared for cervical cancer. She was adamant it was cancer. Biopsy came back negative but still convinced it was malignant, 2WW again. Today after weeks of more colposcopies, imaging and MRI I was discharged with a a 4cm fibroid in a quite rare position .
I really just want anybody reading this to know that consultants are humans and err on the side of caution, take someone with you to advocate on your behalf when your soul leaves your body when you hear the c word and if you must search then use chat gpt rather than googling.
I have the upmost admiration and sympathy for people and their families who have been affected by this truely awful disease.

“ The C word” ? You mean cancer? Yes. I’m on my 4 th cancer diagnosis. I have never been lucky to have benign tumours. You are right, medics can get things wrong. Nothing is a given, until a biopsy is conducted and results reported. Many cancers are curable, many are not. Some are treatable, for a long time, others are a death sentence. Beware, even a fibroid can unfortunately be misdiagnosed. Mine was a fibroid for 18 months, until it wasn’t. Again, medics can get things wrong.

Yes I meant cancer, when you hear it (at least for me) you can’t remember what else people say which is why I think you need someone with you. I’m really sorry about your journey but being diagnosed with a fibroid would mean you were lucky enough to be diagnosed with a benign tumour, I’m only putting this here as when I was desperately looking online for someone who had been through similar experiences I couldn’t find anything. My fibroid is not cancer, the same as my headache or cough is not cancer, I will live my life.
