Hello all. 32 year old woman, had problems with my periods/ovaries for a while, had a few appointments to go to but had to miss them due to children illnessss etc. I’ve now developed a lump down below. I went to the doctors a she was immediately concerned due to my history, asked if I had anyone with me and referred me urgently on the tww cancer pathway. On the note it was noted that she has ‘ a gut feeling ‘ .

now what do I do?
Im going out of my mind an im honestly thinking the worst case scenario 😩😩😩

Morning OP, so sorry to hear you are going through this 😞
Your GP obviously wants you to be seen quickly but it's still so scary to suddenly be on the fast track referral system.
I suggest writing down a list of all the symptoms you have been experiencing over the last few months so you have to hand when you attend your appointment, can you take a friend or family member with you for support as well?
Most patients referred do not have cancer, your symptoms could be any number of gynae related issues however I am not a health professional, equally I know saying that doesn't really help when we are in panic mode.
Be kind to yourself, positive self care is really important, I would encourage you to think about exploring mindfulness techniques, they can be really helpful when you are feeling so anxious. Thinking of you and sending hugs OP 💐

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
for some reason I can read 100s and 100s of comments saying it’s more than likely nothing etc do I listen nope.
My mind lately is taken up by this, and it feels like I have a massive black cloud hanging over my head every single time I wake up.

yes my husband is coming with me, he’s being so supportive but he’s also very emotional about the whole thing.

Ive had so many problems down there lately and with my ovaries, cervix etc. I had a positive smear in march last year and my last one I had HPV 😩😩

Do you know what happens at the appointment? It says on the referral letter to be prepared for tests on the day etc. is it blood tests or will it be a biopsy etc do you know?

When you say lump where exactly do you mean? Outside on your vulva or inside your vagina or on your cervix? Depending on the location, that will depend on the type of investigations you’re likely to have.

Wellbeing24 · 15/11/2025 11:36

The appointment will probably include a number of tests such as bloods, pelvic examination, possibly internal ultrasound and external ultrasounds, perhaps a biopsy taken as well if the gynae team want to evaluate further so you need to be prepared to be at the clinic for some time, it won't be a ten minute slot.
You may be seen by one doctor or more than one, depends how the clinic run their service.
They may be able to reassure you on the day or you may have to wait for results of tests. Either way they will be able to give you more advice about what will happen during and after the appointment.

I know it’s hard with kids but please prioritise your health and make sure you attend any future appointments.

I’ve attached a very poor drawing of a vagina diagram, the oblong like shape is the lump. However it is more circular and so very itchy. Negative for thrush and all other infections etc 😩😩

The 2ww pathway moves very quickly, so you should be getting answers quickly which is reassuring. Have you logged onto the NHS app? You can read reports and blood test results on there, would recommend. Also, like another poster said, do make sure you prioritise your health and attend screenings/follow ups.
