Recall after Mammogram

It's not my first Mammogram - so it's not that. It was a student doing the scan though so hoping it may just be an unclear image but equally it may well be a great scan showing something worrying. I know either way it's good as if it's the worst case, hopefully it's at an early stage.

I realise no one can predict the outcome and wish I could find out sooner - the appointment is not til next Thursday.

@willowthecat
About 3/4 of women recalled after their routine mammogram get the all clear.
I am one out of the four who didn’t. I had an another mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy and the radiographer was 90% sure it was cancer, and was correct. In August, I got my official diagnosis grade 2 Intraductal Carcinoma, estrogen and progesterone positive, HER2 negative. I had surgery 5 weeks ago and I am healing well. All removed and lymph nodes are clear. I have my radiotherapy planning appointment next week.
i hope that you will be one of the majority who are clear. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for replying - yes i know I can't count on being in the all clear and it's re assuring to know that hopefully it will be early stage and treatable like yours.

I hope your recovery goes well

@willowthecat as LeftBoobGoneRogue said, it’s very possible that you’ll get the all clear. If for whatever reason you don’t, please head over to “Likely breast cancer after ultrasound- thread 3”
There are a great bunch of us over there with lots of support and advice.
Like I say, hopefully you won’t need us 😊 but in the event you do, you will be very welcome x

Update - got the All Clear today. It was just an issue to do with 2D imaging of a 3D breast that was resolved by doing a 3D Xray. Totally fine in all areas in the end. I think this happens very often but I realise it won't stop anyone worrying if they get a recall as it was a very nerve wracking morning despite rationally knowing the odds were in my favour.
