Hi
Awaiting biopsy results from last week. Ultrasound and mammogram show definitely cancer. How on earth do I get through this? I feel so overwhelmed and totally alone
Thank you 🙏

So sorry to hear this OP. Please don’t lose heart. Do you have support? Have you spoken to Macmillan? They have been absolutely wonderful for me. My advice would be don’t google anything, it’s so hard to interpret statistics etc and you can worry yourself silly. Lots that you read about online is already out of date information as they are making huge breakthroughs all the time. Thinking of you and sending a big hug and hand hold

Thank you so much for your supportive words. I’m being as positive as I can and will speak to MacMillan. Luckily I have great family and friends. Just wanted to see if there’s anyone on here going through the same thing. It was recommended.

By the way biopsy will tell what it is, mammogram and scan show issues but don’t diagnose - fingers crossed you’re clear xxx

I was in this position last Match, found a lump and the same thing, it’s like being diagnosed without being formally diagnosed. This is the hardest time, once you get the results of the biopsy and any other tests they’ll formulate a plan and you’ll have more idea of your treatment plan.
there are so many different treatment plans out there, and care has come on so much that outlooks are far better than they were previously.
i had a far longer treatment plan than originally anticipated and there have been hurdles along the way but I’m coming to the end of it now.
wishing you lots of love and hope you have lots of support to see you through xx

Four close friends got through this, The advances in treatment now are fabulous. Sending strength to you. X

Second the advice about not googling, it’s easy to go to a dark place. I also found Facebook support groups not that helpful. People who are later stages and can’t be cured tend to stay on the pages, whereas those finished treatment and getting on with their lives leave, so it feels like prognosis is worse. I found a page for those going through my specific treatment plan at the same time as me the most help.

I'm a few weeks along from you - had CT, MRI, genetics bloods etc. Just got my treatment plan on Wednesday.

And fuck me it's been a ride - three weeks from diagnosis to now and I have been through alllll the emotions! The first week was the worst. Constant nauseous anxiety, panicking, waking early, feeling slightly hysterical all the time.

Thankfully, my CT was clear, showing no further spread, but with grade 3 TNBC I am about to be hit with some fairly brutal chemo and then surgery in around six months.

It is helping to take it one day at a time. Today, I am feeling confident in the abilities of my oncologist, and optimistic. Tomorrow may well be different. But be kind to yourself. It's something nobody expects and it's shit. Sending hugs.

Big hugs.
This is a scary time. Once you have a treatment plan it will give you more of a sense of understanding what you're dealing with and what to expect.
Treatment for breast cancer is outstanding. It's swift and targeted.
If you can find some real life support - take it, there will be lots of other women in exactly your position right now.
I've had a referral to the clinic myself and currently know several women either having treatment or biopsies xxx
