Can anyone advise if you are suppose to call the cancer treatment helpline if you have a cold during chemo?
I generally feel a bit rubbish but not awful. Blocked nose and runny eyes. My temp is 37. But the info I have isn’t clear it says to call for flu like symptoms but I don’t really think I have that. I do feel warm but obviously don’t have a temperature.
not sure what to do…

I’ve always been told that if you are worried about your symptoms then phone. The nurses will have your medical notes and be able to ask you about anything else you are experiencing. Most likely they’ll speak to the duty doctor and one or other will ring you back with advice and a plan.

I'm not in the UK. So the procedure may be different but I was told to call my cancer nurse if my temperature went beyond 38 (If it was office hours) if not to call ahead at a&e so you aren't waiting in an infectious waiting room. Can you call and ask advice ?

I hope you have called them as they would want to know what is up, especially if you feel generally unwell. It could be a drug reaction, for example.. Don't be afraid to call. You are not going to be a nuisance to anyone. They want to keep you safe.

i would give your cancer nurse a call and they can advise. They won’t mind you running it past them and will know which symptoms worry them and which ones you can manage at home. I hope you are on the mend soon x

Ring them, if nothing else they will reassure you.
I’m currently hooked up to a drip as my temperature started as 37.1 yesterday morning and went to 38.1 by the afternoon. I rang and was immediately sent to the rapid assessment unit. I am so hungry that I will probably eat the next person who walks in the room but I feel so much better after intravenous antibiotics.
