Is this mole a laser burn from hair removal or worse?!

Hi

I’ve had a photo down at dermatology. Waiting to next be seen by a dermatologist. My GP did not have the magnifying dermascope. Booked me in for two week referral just to be sure

I was expecting when I went to the referral place I would be seen one on one by a dermatologist. But I now have to wait for a phone call to see if the photo is worrying.

this mole has not changed size, it does not itch but it hurts when I touch or press it, abit scabby and darker on the inside. I’m not sure when this changed or if it’s always been this way, I’ve only recently closely looked.

It I’m on the inner calf at the top on my right leg. I’ve Also had a lot of pain at night in this leg, a Doppler scan was high and I’m due to see a vascular surgeon as my GP said my blood is not flowing as it should be or something along them lines.

I am 36 female. No children yet but would love them.

should I be concerned? I am terrified xx

It’s really hard to say. It could be something, it could be nothing but the main thing is you’re getting it looked at so you’re in good hands. If it’s always looked like that that is reassuring, it’s changing or new moles that can be most worrying.

It’s good you’re getting it checked. Most skin cancer (melanoma, specifically, which is what they would be checking that for) is caused by sun damage. Unless you have a history of using a lot of tanning beds, the inner calf would be an unlikely place to get it. It’s most often on the head, back or arms. Places that get a lot of sun. But you’ve done the right thing getting it checked out.
