CT scan after gastroscopy

Hi all,
Longtime lurker, first time poster.
My Husband has had swallowing difficulties so went to GP, referred for gastroscopy which happened 2 weeks after initial GP appointment. He had gastroscopy, hiatus hernia and gastroenteritis diagnosed, 3 biopsies taken and told not concerned, states in letter he got after procedure that is likely benign and reflux related, but will keep on the 2 ww.
He received a phone call this morning asking him to go for a CT scan despite biopsy referred not yet back yet
I have horrendous health anxiety and I'm in a right state. Can anyone make sense of this for us? Oh and I compulsively Google aswell. 😬

Don't Google. Google is not your friend.

His GP was the referrer, so they're the one to ask about the reason for the CT. It would be conjecture for any of us to wade in. Get him to call his GP.

Often if they biopsy something they do a CT, especially if he's still on the 2ww pathway. Sounds like they've just kept him on that as a precaution cos he was symptomatic as well. But anyway a CT is a procedural thing usually. And the doctors doing the scopes are very good at knowing if something looks dodgy so it sounds reassuring but totally understand the worry!

Thank you for your replies, I honestly didn't know where to turn for advice, I come to Mumsnet for a lot of answers on different things so was first port of call.
I agree It doesn't appear concerning and he is just so happy go lucky and unaffected!
I'm however popping propranolol like smarties and Ill with worry. ❤️

It's totally understandable to be worried. My reply wasn't meant to be sharp, I just didn't want you to be terrifying yourself on google. His GP would be the person to ask, but if he's not worried then I guess he won't be asking them!

If you think it might help you, you could call the Macmillan support line.
